Position- Kitchen Coordinator
Classification: Full-time – Term (fiscal year-end)
Shift: 75 Hours bi-weekly
Pay: CA$25.00-CA$27.00 per hour

Summary

The Kitchen Coordinator will primarily work in the Inii Healing House (IHH) kitchen and will support
with meal delivery across different programs. IHH is 90 day treatment program that houses up to 10
residents at a time. The Kitchen Coordinator oversees daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient
meal preparation, excellent food quality, and adherence to food safety standards. This role includes
supervising parttime kitchen support staff, managing inventory and purchasing, and coordinating
meal planning and preparation for large groups. The Kitchen Coordinator also plays a key role in
budgeting, menu development, and maintaining a clean, well-organized kitchen environment. The
Kitchen Coordinator will serve meals to the IHH residents and deliver dinner meals to the local
Shelter, Detox & Early Learning programs. The Kitchen Coordinator will create daily meal plans under
the Canadian nutritional food guide, considering traditional Blackfoot cuisine, and specialized
individual diets. The Kitchen Coordinator will oversee all kitchen operations and will follow standard
safety practices. The Kitchen Coordinator will create and maintain inventory records and reconsider
monthly budgets allotted for each program. The Kitchen Coordinator will supervise one or two
kitchen support workers.

Key Responsibilities
• Operations & Supervision: Manage daily kitchen operations, including scheduling staff or
volunteers, and supervising food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure quality.
• Inventory & Purchasing: Monitor stock levels, order food and kitchen supplies, and
manage vendor relationships.
• Health & Safety: Maintain strict sanitation, hygiene, and food safety standards to comply
with federal and provincial health regulations.
• Budgeting & Cost Control: Monitor food costs, maintain inventory records, and assist with
budgeting.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect kitchen equipment, ensure proper functioning, and
arrange repairs as needed.
• Menu Planning: Plan menus for daily services, special events, or dietary restrictions (e.g.,
in a, hospital, community, or daycare setting)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Reliable, compassionate, and works collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create and maintain Word documents and Excel sheets
• Knowledge of Piikani/Blackfoot Culture and Language is an asset
• Manage key stakeholder relationships

Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in the hospitality or care industry, often with prior supervisory
experience.
• Valid food handling certificate required
• Experience working with vulnerable populations an asset
• Proficient in MS Office 365 and Excel
• Frequent travel is required.
