**MULTIPLE JOB POSTING**
The Medical Detox Program is a new permanent program under the Akoka’tssini Mental Wellness Services umbrella. Medical Detox is funded through Recovery Alberta and must adhere to the Mental Health Services Protection Regulation Standards. The program will play a critical role in providing culturally safe, respectful, and effective care for Piikani members who are seeking sobriety. The Medical Detox will be designed to honour Indigenous traditions and healing practices while integrating modern medical care to support physical and emotional wellness.

Patient Navigator
The Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse supports patients undergoing medical detox by managing withdrawal symptoms, monitoring vital signs, and administering prescribed treatments. Collaborates with physicians, paramedics, support workers, and mental wellness staff to ensure continuity of care and appropriate referrals.
The Advanced Care Paramedics (APC) delivers advanced life support, critical interventions, and clinical oversight during emergency responses and medical transports. The ACP plays a key role in complex clinical scenarios, supporting stabilization, treatment planning, and health system navigation.
The Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) delivers responsive, compassionate, and culturally safe pre-hospital and community-based care. the PCP provides emergency medical services, health monitoring, and transport assistance. This role includes collaboration with nurses, physicians, and other staff to support patient stabilization, assessment, and continuity of care. The PCP ensures timely documentation, adheres to clinical protocols, and promotes health and safety.
The Patient Navigator provides front-line administrative support for patients entering and exiting medical services within the medical detox. This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and organized environment for patients seeking care. The Patient Navigator manages patient information, schedules, documentation, and coordination with medical care teams while upholding privacy and cultural sensitivity. The Patient Navigator plays a key role in helping patients feel welcomed, informed, and supported, contributing to the overall effectiveness and accessibility of care.
