Reports to: IHH Program Leader
Position reporting requirements: Basic
Schedule: 12 hours shifts; Saturday and Sunday ONLY
Rate of Pay: $20 per hour with a $2 top-up for night shift.
General Description
The Recovery Coach will be in daily contact with Inii Healing House clientele. The Recovery Coach will guide and support residents through the daily schedule. They will help residents develop and implement a recovery plan by setting attainable goals and developing strategies to work through everyday challenges concerning their plan/goals. The Recovery Coach will work towards building strong connections and positive relationships with all stakeholders involved, including, family, caregivers, program facilitators, and AKHS/AMW colleagues.
Role and Responsibilities Duties
- Interview residents, obtain history, prepare intake reports
- Submit complete referral forms
- Ensure residents follow their treatment plan
- Ensure residents follow house guidelines
- Assist residents with organizing personal affairs as needed – under Supervisor’s guidance
- Accompany residents through their daily schedules
- Chart and report on client activities
- Participate in weekly case consultations
- Participate in daily debriefing meetings
- Complete daily communications logs
- Ensure documentation is handled confidently and filed in client files as per file guidelines
- Assist in program delivery as needed
- Housekeeping duties: cooking and cleaning
- Confidentially offering transparent support – only high clearance access to client file notes/info (supervisor/director)
- Confidentially communicate with care providers/guardians and/or approved persons only.
KSA
- Reliable, compassionate, and works collaboratively within a team environment.

- Intermediate level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Build and manage relationships based on trust and rapport
- Knowledge of Piikani/Blackfoot Culture and Language is an asset.
- Sound Knowledge and ability to demonstrate a practical application of the following techniques is considered an asset: crisis intervention, de-escalation skills, people management skills, conflict intervention and resolution
Qualification
Mental Health Certifications or Training focused on Vulnerable sectors
- First Aid, CPR, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVDI), Trauma-Informed Care, Security training would be considered an asset.
Experience in mental health, counselling, care facility, with vulnerable populations in a client supervisory/ role.
Hazardous Materials handling – Industrial cleaning certification an asset
Comfortable in MS Office 365
